Il Mosnel
Authenticity and Traceability from Vineyard to Customer

01.

Contesto

Il Mosnel is a historic Franciacorta winery, active since 1836 and now led by Giulio and Lucia Barzanò. Tradition and innovation coexist in its history, driven by the pioneering vision of Emanuela Barboglio and the foundation of the Franciacorta Consortium.

02.

Goal

Verify the authenticity of each bottle to fight counterfeiting and the grey market.

Ensure traceability throughout the entire supply chain: from the winery to the consumer.

Support logistics efficiency, warehouse operations, and regulatory compliance (EU Regulation 2021/2117).

03.

Solution with SAIT’s support

SAIT has developed Wineability, a customized software platform leveraging RFID technology and 1TRUEID Qrcode, enabling:

Unique serialization for each bottle, ensuring full traceability and anti-counterfeiting.

Automated warehouse management: simultaneous reading to identify every bottle up to the pallet level.

  • End-customer interaction: QR scan to verify authenticity, access exclusive content, join the Wine Club, and obtain regulatory information.

  • Regulatory compliance: Wineability simplifies the updating of digital label content to comply with EU Regulation 2021/2117 on ingredients, nutritional values, and disposal.

The project has also been recognized with awards, winning the AIM Award 2024 – Blockchain category, and being a finalist at the Digital360 Awards 2025 in the “Business Application” category.

04.

Results

Complete control of distribution channels: 100% visibility and the ability to isolate unauthorized operators.

More efficient warehouse: zero errors in picking and shipping, with faster and more accurate logistics.

Customer loyalty: enhanced experience through access to information and content via QR/mobile.

Simplified and more dynamic regulatory compliance, thanks to digital management of label data.
