Winner of the Blockchain category:

CERTIFYING IN BLOCKCHAIN IS A WINNING CHOICE!

Winner of the Blockchain category: SAIT SRL. For the second time, SAIT wins the Blockchain category with the integrated solution Wineability™ for its ability to address the challenges faced by wineries, including bottle distribution traceability and compliance with labeling regulations. By using RFID technology and QR codes, Wineability™ enables full traceability from the winery to the consumer’s table, enhancing transparency and the value of the entire supply chain.”

With this motivation, AIM, an association that for over 50 years has aimed to promote the adoption, growth, and interoperability of automatic identification technologies in the global market, announces the winner in the Blockchain category of the sector competition “AIM Case Study Competition”, an annual event that awards forward-thinking people and organizations who have developed groundbreaking solutions contributing to the advancement of digital identification technologies worldwide.

The winner, selected from a shortlist of outstanding candidates, represents the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in the respective category. Each case study exemplifies the evolutionary impact these technologies have across various sectors, showcasing real-world applications that foster efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

SAIT earned this important recognition thanks to the Case Study Il Mosnel, a Franciacorta winery founded in 1836 that has always understood the importance of withstanding the test of time by intertwining ancient winemaking practices with modern innovative solutions to tackle the complexities of authenticity, traceability, and consumer engagement.

Like many other wineries, over the years it faced the issue of gray markets, finding its products sold outside recognized and authorized distribution channels, as well as the problem of counterfeit wines. To protect its strategies and policies, as well as the value of the brand and its market positioning, it deemed it necessary to trace every step of each bottle’s journey from the winery to the end consumer. Every Il Mosnel bottle is unique thanks to an RFID tag, and all the information contained in the tag is certain, transparent, and accessible to all through blockchain.

Moreover, the winery and bottle traceability management system allowed immediate compliance with labeling obligations set by EU Regulation 2021/2117, with the awareness of having turned yet another market challenge into an additional competitive advantage.
